The Good Old Hockey Game

Almost every conversation with my son Nicholas starts with "How bout that game!" Nick is a hockey fanatic and a diehard Ottawa Senators fan. (He also loves the WWE wrestling, but we'll leave that subject for another day!) Last weekend was the NHL All-Star weekend here in the nation's capital. Nick didn't go to the skills tournament or the all-star game - we bought a Senators seasons ticket package for Nicholas, so we told him that the All Star tickets were just too expensive at $400. Luckily, the organizers of the tournament provided for folks like us and put on a "Fanfair", or exhibition about all things hockey. You can see by the photos that a good time was had by all!

Hockey means a lot to Nicholas - writing about it is the cornerstone of his Person Directed Planning process, or "Path". Everyone on Nick's team has helped him think about his life goals and how to attain them. One of Nick's dreams has always been to be a sports reporter. He has a hockey blog called "The Hockey Ambassador", which he will be ramping up in the months leading up to the playoffs. And he will be a roving reporter, tweeting live action results from the WWE Raw Live Event at the Scotiabank Centre in Ottawa on March 3.

Nicholas recently filled out a fan survey for his team, the Senators, and he predicts they will win the Stanley Cup this season. If you have a different opinion, feel free to trash talk with "The Hockey Ambassador" on his blog!
