I can relat...Thank you for this moving post, Donna. I can relate to what you wrote. I also have apetulant and stubborn mother who has never really been there for me. With age she has become even more difficult. Sometimes I can be nice and detached when I am with her... sometimes her comments really get me and all I can do is leave the room. We do our best... We might never find out whether what we do for the ones we care for is good or bad. Buddhism says that we leave in a world of duality... if there is good, by definition there has to be bad.
